Malaga Cathedral has only one of the two towers which were included in its original design, as the money needed to complete the second tower was re-directed to the United States during the American War of Independence. Now the Ayuntamiento of Malaga has said it wants to complete the other tower with some, including the dean of the Cathedral agreeing with the idea. The Cathedrals surveyor believes it would be feasible, although the process could take many years. There are others that are against the suggestion with some asking how the work would be paid for and some believing that the cathedral should stay as it is, as its unfinished tower makes it unique and enchanting.
